S&P 500, Nasdaq Futures Falling as Markets Await Inflation Data
U.S. stock futures were mostly falling Monday as investors looked to build on record highs ahead of key inflation data later in the week.
Futures on the S&P 500 were down less than 0.1% ahead of the open and Nasdaq 100 futures fell 0.1%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were flat. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite both reached record highs Friday after the jobs report came in hotter-than-expected, but not too hot as to shift rate-cut expectations.
However, the Dow fell for the second consecutive day, dragged down by UnitedHealth shares following the fatal shooting of executive Brian Thompson.
