Donald Trump’s social media team took a new shot at pop superstar Taylor Swift, this time turning one of her most famous albums into a pro-Trump parody filled with references to the president’s agenda. The Team Trump TikTok account transformed Swift’s 2012 album “Red” into “Red (Trump’s Version),” replacing the singer on the album cover with Trump himself. The post worked its way through several Swift song titles to mock the Biden-Harris administration and promote Trump’s record.

This is the latest chapter in the long-running feud between Trump and Swift, who backed former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election. Swift has repeatedly opposed Trump politically, while Trump has been more than willing to return fire. His social media team also has a habit of using popular music and pop-culture references in their posts, frequently drawing attention from artists who strongly oppose the president.

This time, Team Trump went straight for one of the most recognizable parts of Swift’s collection. The TikTok displayed a modified version of the “Red” album artwork with Trump’s face and the title changed to “Red (Trump’s Version).” The joke references Swift’s well-publicized re-recordings, through which she has released new “Taylor’s Version” editions of several of her earlier albums.

The account leaned into the obvious connection between the album’s title and the Republican Party. “Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican Party?” the post said, according to Breitbart. It followed with a series of Trump-themed variations of Swift songs.

“Red (Donald Trump’s Version),” one part of the post read, before adding, “Red (Taylor Swift Wrote A Whole Album About Republicans).” The parody then turned the title of Swift’s song “Everything Has Changed,” to “Everything Has Changed (At Our Southern Border).” Another entry said, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (The Biden Harris Administration).”

Team Trump finished the run with another shot aimed at former President Joe Biden and the controversy surrounding his use of the autopen during his tenure. Playing off Swift’s song “The Last Time,” the account wrote, “The Last Time (An Autopen Runs The Country).” The TikTok initially used Swift’s song “Red” as its soundtrack, though the audio was later removed from the post.

The “Red” post followed another Trump-related TikTok using Swift’s music earlier in the week. That video featured Trump and First Lady Melania Trump watching fireworks while Swift’s “August,” from her 2020 album “Folklore,” played in the background. Team Trump captioned the video with another jab at the singer: “Make August Great Again. (Taylor Swift probably wrote this song about President Trump.)”

The relationship between Trump and Swift became especially hostile during the 2024 campaign after the singer publicly endorsed Harris following the presidential debate. Trump responded shortly afterward with a characteristic Truth Social post declaring, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Swift had already been an outspoken Trump critic before the 2024 election. During the 2020 presidential campaign, she attacked Trump publicly and backed the Biden-Harris ticket. Her 2024 endorsement of Harris coming as little surprise, but it provided Trump and his social media team with plenty of material once he returned to the White House.

The administration’s aggressive social media strategy has repeatedly irritated liberal celebrities and musicians whose work appears in Trump-related posts. Trump’s team, however, has shown little interest in avoiding the fights.
