Pope Leo is the coolest pope of all time, and here’s another example of why.
There might have been severe weather in the area, but when everything cleared up, it was showtime Tuesday night for the Chicago White Sox as they held a night to celebrate Pope Leo XIV.

Originally, the giveaway was meant for only 2,500 fans with special tickets; however, it didn’t take long before that number expanded to 41,000. In other words, the whole stadium got involved.
Outside of the stadium, vendors were selling pope-themed t-shirts, hats, and pins that feature the classic White Sox batter logo with the papal crown.

We are talking about a man who holds the most solemn, historical seat of global leadership, yet still rocks White Sox hats at the Vatican, which is the most American move, by the way. The guy brought blue-collar Chicago grit directly to the holy city.
As you see, he was honored for that by the White Sox with their Pope Leo night, which couldn’t have been more successful. It says a lot about Leo. When a minor promo hat expands from a modest 2,500-ticket package into a 41,000-person stadium takeover, that’s something that puts you on the level of being a cultural icon.
