 This is the terrifying moment a plane went up in flames after a nightmare landing at a Turkish airport.

Dramatic footage shows dozens of passengers - including children - fleeing from the burning jetliner as sirens blare in the background.

Huge plumes of smoke can be seen billowing into the night sky and panicked voices can be heard as fire crews use multiple hoses to tackle the blaze.

Passengers appeared to clutch their belongings as they used an emergency inflatable slide to escape the inferno.

The Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger plane from Azimuth Airlines caught fire on Sunday after landing at the Antalya Airport on the Mediterranean coast. 

It had had taken off from Sochi, Russia and was carrying 89 passengers and six crew members, Turkey's transportation ministry said in a statement. 

The pilot made an emergency call after the aircraft landed at 9:34pm local time (06:34pm GMT), and firefighting crews quickly extinguished the fire, according to the statement.

The ministry confirmed that all 95 people on board were safely evacuated.

No injuries have been reported and Suat Seyitoglu, deputy governor of Antalya told a local outlet as per The New York Post: 'All passengers were evacuated without injury, and thankfully no one was harmed.'

The transportation ministry said efforts were underway to remove the aircraft from the runway. 

Arrivals at the airport were temporarily suspended while departures were taking place from a military-run runway. 

Azimuth Airlines said the plane had made a rough landing due to wind shear.

The fire originated from the plane's left engine, according to reports.

The Turkish State Meteorological Service had issued a severe weather warning for the region shortly before the incident.

Russia's Federal Aviation Authority, Rosaviatsiya, said it was investigating the incident.

Flight tracking website FlightRadar24 said the aircraft was seven years old. 

Russia is short of aircraft due to Western sanctions imposed in connection with Moscow's 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
