This is the terrifying moment panicked air passengers screamed in terror as their flight was battered by a ferocious storm.

The dangerous weather eventually forced the plane to make an emergency landing.

The aircraft can be seen violently shaking from side to side as the concerned passenger films out of the window where a storm can be seen raging outside.

One woman can be seen rocking to the side due to the force of winds hitting the aircraft.

Meanwhile, small children can be heard crying out in distress as the harrowing video comes to an abrupt end.

The scary footage was taken on a Pegasus Airlines flight from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, located in Istanbul, on Sunday November 17. 

Its intended destination was Mersin in southern Turkey however the plane as forced to make an emergency landing in Kayseri, central Turkey, due to the dangerous weather.   

Despite the city only being a little under an hour and a half from Istanbul, the aircraft had no choice but to remain in the air for double the amount of time as the severity of the storm made landing impossible.

The scary footage was taken on a Pegasus Airlines flight from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, located in Istanbul, on Sunday November 17. Its intended destination was Mersin in southern Turkey however the plane as forced to make an emergency landing in Kayseri

Upon landing after three hours in the air, Medical teams intervened to tend to the disturbed passengers at the airport in Kayseri. 

Pegasus airlines released a statement on the flight on November 18.

They wrote: 'Attention to our valued guests. On November 17, 2024, our Sabiha Gökçen-Çukurova flight, number PC2092, landed safely at Kayseri Erkilet Airport instead of the planned destination due to adverse weather conditions during the flight.

'We always consider the safety of our guests and team as our top priority.

'Apart from turbulence caused by weather conditions, no incidents were experienced and such weather events are managed with standard measures determined for flight safety and security.

'The safety and comfort of our guests are always protected at the highest level.'

Last week a Terrifying video showed the moment extreme turbulence hit a passenger jet, throwing passengers into the ceiling on a Miami-bound flight which was then forced to turn around and head back to Europe. 

The Scandinavian Airlines flight from Stockholm, which was supposed to take over nine hours, was almost at its destination when it was forced to make a U-turn and head all the way back following the alarming situation on Thursday.

After experiencing the turbulence over Greenland, the packed aircraft returned to a base in Copenhagen to undergo checks over concerns about technical issues.

A passenger on the flight, who was travelling with his wife, posted footage showing screaming passengers as the plane was rattled by the turbulence.

A woman sitting in his row is then flung upwards. 'Look at her feet touching the [ceiling]!' he wrote. 'I thought we were going to [die]'.

According to Scandinavian Airlines, 254 passengers and one baby were on board the plane.

A passenger who was on board said they witnessed at least one person sustain injuries, but a spokesperson for the airline said no serious injuries were reported.
