Terrifying new footage shows passengers screaming when their flight hit extreme turbulence — sending one woman so far out of her seat her feet nearly touched the cabin ceiling.

The newly emerged footage shows passengers on the Miami-bound Scandinavian Airlines flight that had to make a U-turn Thursday night after hitting a massive bump mid-flight, violently shaking the plane and ejecting fliers from their seats.

“Look at her feet touching the [ceiling]!” one passenger wrote alongside a clip. “Thought we would die.”

Footage also shows passengers’ belongings, food and drinks going airborne as many of the 254 travelers on the jam-packed flight shrieked in fear.

Photos of the aftermath posted on social media showed debris strewn across the cabin floor.

Fortunately, there were no severe injuries among passengers and crew, a Scandinavian Airlines spokesperson said of the flight that turned back to Europe to be inspected for damages.

“Following such turbulence, standard safety procedures require a thorough inspection of the aircraft,” the spokesperson said.

The flight had taken off from Stockholm around 12:55 pm local time and was destined for Miami when it hit the severe turbulence over Greenland, forcing the plane to immediately hightail it back across the Atlantic, the airline said.

The flight, which typically takes nine hours, was rerouted back to Copenhagen, Denmark where technicians are looking for any potential damages.

If the flight had continued to Miami, which does not have the proper space and personnel for an inspection, the plane would have been grounded “for an extended period of time” leading to “multiple cancellations,” the airline said.

Standard safety procedures mandate a thorough inspection of the aircraft following extreme turbulence, according to the airline.

The passengers received an overnight hotel and have all been booked on other flights by Friday morning.

Another Scandinavian Airlines flight in September was also forced to divert after a mouse jumped from a passenger’s meal and started running around the cabin.

The plane was flying from Norway to Spain when it was also forced to land in Denmark.
