Looking for an under-the-radar pick in Gameweek 4? Using Opta data, we’ve found five potential gems in Fantasy Premier League for The 10% Club.
Considering four of the five top-scoring players from Gameweek 3 were owned by fewer than 2.5% of Fantasy Premier League managers, we’d suggest taking note of The 10% Club.
Tyrick Mitchell, Jayden Bogle, Luka Vuskovic and Harvey Barnes were the under-the-radar gems from last weekend, with Alexander Isak the only anomaly from the quintet of top points scorers.
So, who to consider for GW4? Using Opta data, take a look at our top five selections that could be valuable differential picks, with all of them in fewer than 10% of teams worldwide.
DEF – Anan Khalaili | 5.0m | 0.2% Ownership
Many FPL players may be looking at Mitchell from the Crystal Palace defence after his two goals and 15-point haul against Fulham on GW3.
However, we prefer Anan Khalaili for the upcoming visit of Ipswich Town, given he offers a threat in attack and is rapidly becoming a reliable option for defensive contributions.
Khalaili may not have scored in the 3-2 victory at Craven Cottage, but his 0.72 expected goals (xG) marked the most of any Palace player, despite Mitchell scoring twice from 0.66 xG.
The Crystal Palace wing-back also hit nine DEFCONs in just 35 minutes on GW1 against Everton, before earning an additional two points against both Manchester City and Fulham (14 and 10 respectively) for reaching the threshold.
By contrast, Mitchell is yet to score DEFCON points, making his floor lower. It’s also hard to imagine Palace’s left wing-back finding the net twice in many other games this season; after all, his previous two league goals came across an 80-match span.
Chris Richards is another Palace asset who proved his worth with DEFCONs last year, but Khalaili has already outscored him (33 to 31), and his tiny ownership should surge with a decent return against Ipswich.
DEF – Tarik Muharemović | 5.0m | 3.5% Ownership
Tarik Muharemovic is quickly becoming a fan favourite for Leeds United, as well as a solid FPL selection for managers around the world.
His arrival from Sassuolo, and James Trafford’s signing in goal, have only solidified a Leeds backline that already had a decent defensive record at Elland Road. Just four sides managed more than their six clean sheets at home last season.
Ahead of back-to-back home games against Newcastle United and Palace, we’d suggest banking on Muharemović’s potential for a clean sheet or two. And, if all else fails, you can rely on an additional two DEFCON points.
Indeed, Muharemović started with a shutout and six points against Nottingham Forest, before consecutive four-point hauls after hitting the DEFCON threshold, despite conceding to both Brentford and Brighton.
In fact, only Hull City’s John Egan (41) has recorded more clearances, interceptions, tackles and blocks than Muharemović’s 39 among all defenders this campaign.
His 14-point total may seem modest so far, but with Joe Rodon’s injury further locking down his starting spot, Muharemović should become a set-and-forget option in your squad. He also scored in Leeds’ midweek EFL Cup loss to Chelsea, displaying his threat at attacking set plays.
In terms of other options, Sunderland’s Nordi Mukiele is scoring at a similar rate (13 points and 33 DEFCONs), but he next faces Arsenal and Manchester City, plus he’s more expensive. Kristoffer Ajer is a cheaper alternative, but we’d recommend staying away from this pick given Brentford face Bournemouth (A), Chelsea (H), Aston Villa (A) and Liverpool (H) over the next four matchdays.
MID – Emiliano Buendía | 6.0m | 1.0% Ownership
Admittedly it may seem odd selecting any attacking player from a side who haven’t scored in the league yet and have managed only one shot on target.
But we’re backing Villa to turn the tide at home to Forest, and the underlying data suggests Emiliano Buendía could play a key role. No Villa player has had more than Buendía’s six shots in the 2026-27 competition, while his 0.78 xG leaves him top of the pile in Unai Emery’s squad.
The Argentinian may think his luck is turning, too. He hit the crossbar from range in the defeat to Arsenal and blazed over a glorious opportunity at Hull, but he then found the net in Villa’s 3-2 victory over Club Brugge in their UEFA Champions League opener.
Potential owners will hope that European form translates into domestic success as Emery’s new-look team blends together, but Buendía’s price also means switching would be easy should Villa’s struggles continue domestically.
Alex Scott and Marcus Tavernier both cost the same and are accumulating points at an impressive rate, but Bournemouth face Brentford (H), Liverpool (H) and Chelsea (A) in a tough upcoming run.
Anton Stach is another reliable DEFCON midfielder who The 10% Club has covered previously, while we’d hold off on Barnes until after Newcastle’s trip to Leeds, given their defensive record mentioned above.
MID – Diego Gómez | 5.0m | 4.9% Ownership
Despite injuries to Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh, many FPL players will be looking to profit from Brighton’s attack when they travel to Coventry City.
Maxim De Cuyper has established himself as a firm favourite, given he is playing on the left wing and classified in this format as a defender, but the Belgian is already in a fifth of squads.
However, we’re placing our faith in Diego Gómez, who should start again on GW4 as new signing Femi Azeez recovers from a slight knock after joining from Millwall.
Among midfielders in his £5m price bracket, only Hull’s Mohamed Belloumi (14) and Brentford’s Vitaly Janelt (21) have returned more points than Gómez’s 13, and that pair have challenging away fixtures next.
Plus, Gómez has the underlying data to suggest he could haul once more. He has had double the shots of any other Brighton player (12), while his 0.7 expected assists (xA) leads the way for the Seagulls.
Gómez has already returned twice, too, with assists against both Villa and Chelsea. His low price point also means your budget can spread further as managers assess whether to spend on Bruno Fernandes, Cole Palmer or Bukayo Saka.
FWD – Kai Havertz | 7.5m | 7.6% Ownership
Somehow, Kai Havertz remains an option for The 10% Club despite being the first-choice striker for reigning champions Arsenal.
Having scored two goals in his first three league games, only João Pedro (21), Isak (23) and Erling Haaland (24) can better Havertz’s 16 points among all forwards.
Unsurprisingly, that popular trio are all in more than 10% of teams worldwide, with Isak and Haaland also costing substantially more than the Germany international.
Upcoming trips to Sunderland and Brighton, followed by a home clash with Leeds, should bring further chances for Havertz to impress, but there are some caveats to consider.
With Arsenal’s Champions League campaign now under way, Mikel Arteta may be tempted to lean on Viktor Gyökeres – or even Mikel Merino – should the Gunners opt to rest Havertz at some point and keep him fit for Europe.
Prospective managers should remember you can only pick three assets from one club, and most will already be locked in on at least one – if not two – of Arsenal’s defenders and David Raya.
However, other attacking Arsenal options – Saka, Martin Ødegaard and Christos Tzolis – are already in more than 10% of squads. Havertz won’t stick in this bracket for long if his early-season form continues.
