The 10% Club is back again for Gameweek 5. Have you got any of these five under-the-radar gems in Fantasy Premier League?
The Fantasy Premier League template is rapidly becoming clear, with João Pedro, Erling Haaland and the Arsenal defence making up a large proportion of most starting XIs.
However, with the international break just around the corner, there are still some differential picks we can profit from in Gameweek 5.
Using Opta data, we’ve selected five under-the-radar gems for GW5, and all are in fewer than 10% of teams worldwide.
DEF – Daniel Muñoz | 5.4m | 5.5% Ownership
Oliver Glasner’s reunion with Daniel Muñoz at Nottingham Forest will have many FPL managers excited, especially with struggling Coventry City visiting the City Ground next.
Having followed Glasner from Crystal Palace to Forest, Muñoz managed his first 90 minutes last time out in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa and played a significant role in Igor Jesus’ late winner.
In fact, no defender for either side had more touches in the opposition box than his four in that game, while only Morgan Gibbs-White (7) created more than Muñoz’s four chances.
The Colombian seems to be Glasner’s preferred right wing-back, too, with Ola Aina dropping into the back three against Villa, raising no concerns about Muñoz’s minutes going forward.
With Gibbs-White (26 points) already in more than 10% of teams, managers may be considering another Forest differential to select. Murillo has the second-most points (19) but plays a deeper role, and doesn’t offer the same attacking threat as Muñoz.
Neco Williams is another slightly cheaper Forest option, but we prefer the tried-and-trusted Muñoz. His 18 goal involvements over the previous two full league campaigns are far ahead of the nine from Williams, who also has just one assist this season.
Coventry have failed to score this season and will be without first-choice striker Taiwo Awoniyi due to suspension, leaving the potential for a clean sheet to further boost Muñoz’s appeal.
DEF – Jayden Bogle | 4.5m | 2.7% Ownership
We wouldn’t be doing our job here in The 10% Club if we didn’t highlight that the top-scoring player in the entire game is owned by just 2.7% of managers.
Jayden Bogle is defying the odds for Leeds United, albeit there has been a slice of fortune to his 37 points – four more than any other player.
Bogle has scored against both Brighton and Newcastle United, earning clean sheet points on top of that after being removed before Leeds have conceded in both games.
Indeed, he has returned 29 points in the last two weeks, but that would have been just 21 – or even lower without bonuses – if Bogle had stayed on the pitch and lost his clean sheet like his teammates James Justin and Tarik Muharemović.
His goal against Newcastle was fortunate, too, getting the last, slight touch on Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s header when initially the Leeds striker was awarded the finish.
However, Bogle can’t be ignored before out-of-form Palace visit Elland Road next, and we can reconsider if his scoring run is more luck than skill after the international break when Leeds’ fixtures turn tougher.
MID – Josh King | 5.5m | 1.5% Ownership
One route to points in FPL is capitalising on fixture ‘swings’ – when an upcoming run appears to turn favourable for a team – and there is no better example than Fulham.
Alvaro Arbeola’s side face the newly promoted trio – Ipswich Town (A), Hull City (H) and Coventry (A) – consecutively after the international break, but we’d suggest getting in a week early on Josh King.
Fulham’s home meeting with Manchester United may seem a strange entry point for this budget midfielder, but Michael Carrick’s side have conceded in every game in 2026-27. Only five Premier League teams have allowed more goals than their seven as well.
King is in fine form, too. He has already scored two goals in four Premier League games this season, having netted just once in his previous 40 outings for Fulham.
Indeed, he is quickly becoming a leading budget pick. Only Hull’s Mohamed Belloumi (27) – boosted by his two-goal haul against Chelsea – and Brentford’s Vitaly Janelt (25) have scored more points than King’s 22 among all midfielders priced £5.5m or lower.
Not only is King proving his worth with returns but picking him based on Fulham’s fixtures with a longer-term view in mind may save you a transfer later down the line.
MID – Marcus Tavernier | 6.1m | 5.2% Ownership
Marcus Tavernier continues to go under the radar, despite scoring in three of his four games for Bournemouth and returning a hefty 29 points.
Only Pascal Groẞ (33), Kevin Schade (30) and Bukayo Saka (30) have outscored Tavernier this season among midfielders, but all of them – bar the Brentford forward – are in more than 10% of squads.
And if you’ve been following along with The 10% Club, we’ve already pushed you towards the impressive Schade, who has two double-digit hauls this season.
Alex Scott is another enticing Bournemouth selection, with 28 points to his name, but managers may not want to double up on their midfield just yet.
Tavernier’s underlying data makes him our choice out of the pair, though. He has an expected goals (xG) total of 1.70 to Scott’s 0.51, though the latter has claimed a couple of fortuitous fantasy assists to boost his points.
Admittedly, Bournemouth’s next home meeting with Liverpool does seem tough, but the Reds still appear unconvincing at the back, and the Cherries should come out firing against former manager Andoni Iraola.
Tavernier’s accessible price also lets managers save budget to include more premium options from the likes of Cole Palmer, Bruno Fernandes or Saka.
FWD – Thierno Barry | 5.6m | 6.5% Ownership
With Beto leaving for Fiorentina and Everton failing to bring in Folarin Balogun on deadline day, many Toffees supporters were left incredibly frustrated.
Thierno Barry is left as their only out-and-out option to lead the line, but that plays perfectly into the hands of potential FPL managers.
There is no better time to bring Barry in either – only Palace (11) have conceded more goals than Ipswich’s 10, with Gary O’Neil’s side yet to keep a clean sheet ahead of their visit to Everton.
Barry may have scored only once this season, finding the net against Palace on GW1, but he keeps getting into great positions.
Indeed, only Haaland (3.34) can better his 2.98 expected goals (xG), excluding penalties, or his five Opta-defined ‘big’ chances (Haaland has seven). However, Barry is still only in 6.5% of teams, perhaps given he’s only taken one of those ‘big’ opportunities.
Charalampos Kostoulas is another option in a similar pricing bracket, but Brighton next face Arsenal’s fearsome defence. Ipswich’s Emersonn (£5.5m) is another consideration and has 10 more points than Barry’s 14, but his minutes are a risk with Zian Flemming’s arrival.
By contrast, Barry remains David Moyes’ first-choice striker, having played 90 minutes in back-to-back games. If he matches his underlying data, that low ownership is only going to surge.
