The Issue: The Pentagon’s plan to livestream the execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan.

The Trump administration livestreaming the execution of Nidal Hasan by firing squad is bait for Muslims worldwide to lash out violently against America (“Streaming Fort Hood execution,” Oct. 9).

We’re all aware Muslim terrorists thrive on violence; livestreaming the execution of one of their heroes is throwing gasoline on a fire.

It is quite obvious that the motive is maximum publicity for the Trump administration.

But we should just execute this killer and move on.

This behavior is frighteningly similar to the very things we condemn the terrorists for.

If the execution of the Fort Hood shooter is livestreamed, it will give him far more publicity in countries where he is considered a martyr.

The majority of Americans already know there are serious consequences for shooting US soldiers.

They don’t need further convincing.

Videos of the execution will only be used to inspire other killers.

Bruce Couchman

I wasn’t one of the many people who viewed the video of George Floyd’s death.

Nor am I interested in seeing the Fort Hood terrorist get his ultimate consequence by firing squad.

All I want to know is that the punishment was successfully carried out.

Also, why has this taken so long?

Bill Riegel

Suffolk County

Hasan is already a martyr to his many Jihadist fans around the world, but livestreaming his execution will make him a martyr to all the Democrats and global weenies who abhor capital punishment.

He should be executed with dispatch.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth can livestream himself dancing on the coward’s grave.

Paul Bloustein

Cincinnati, Ohio

Public execution is a cruel and outdated approach and should be condemned.

This should be quick, painless and not a public event.

How long will it be before America brings back stadium executions with the criminal facing a hungry lion?

It’s just another step into the swamp that Trump was going to drain.

Dennis Fitzgerald

Box Hill, Australia

I believe in capital punishment for the worst of the worst, and Nidal Malik Hasan qualifies.

But I draw the line at making this a public spectacle that impressionable children could and would watch.

What’s next?

Gathering thousands of people in the town square to jeer and chant as they witness a hanging?

The Issue: Homeland Security raiding Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home as it investigates her immigration paperwork.

The Trump administration had better be certain it has the goods on Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, otherwise this will backfire spectacularly (“Ilhan’d it over, feds say,” Oct. 13).

Like any target of an investigation, she is entitled to the presumption of innocence until convicted in court.

If she is guilty, though, I hope she goes down hard.

She epitomizes how crackpot our immigration policy has been for the past several decades.

We have taken in tens of millions of immigrants who come from cultures that are hostile to Western civilization and who have no intention of assimilating.

John Peters

San Antonio, Texas

I do believe Omar is a dirty politician — most politicians are.

But I’m thinking this raid is just a show.

Why only search her Washington, DC, home and not her Minnesota one?

MAGA wants someone big to finally go to jail.

Even with all this federal fraud, it seems only nobodies have been convicted so far.
