Netflix has released new images and a teaser trailer for “The Four Seasons,” the comedy series based on the 1981 film of the same name. The new series will premiere globally on Thursday May 1.

Starring Tina Fey, the series follows “Six old friends head for a relaxing weekend away only to learn that one couple in the group is about to split up,” news which “upends the dynamics” between couples Kate (Fey) and Jack (Will Forte), Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver) and Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani).

According to an official synopsis, “The Four Seasons” will track the couples “over the course of a year, follow[ing] the friends on four vacations, and watch[ing] how this shake-up affects everyone’s dynamic — sending old issues and new bubbling to the surface.”

The eight-episode, half-hour series is co-created, co-showrun, executive produced, and written by Fey alongside Tracey Wigfield and Lang Fisher, who also directs. David Miner and Eric Gurian serve as additional executive producers.

Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman direct episodes one and two, while Oz Rodriguez directs episodes three and four. Executive producer Jeff Richmond directs episode five, with Colman Domingo stepping behind the camera to direct episode six and co-creator/showrunner Fisher directing the last two episodes.

“The Four Seasons” also stars Erika Henningsen, with additional guest stars Julia Lester, Alan Alada, Ashlyn Maddox, Jacob Buckenmyer, Taylor Ortega, Simone Recasner, Toby Edward Huss, Tommy Do, Chloe Troast, Jack Gore and Cole Tristan Murphy.
