Reports surrounding a US-led ceasefire initiative in Lebanon are inaccurate, the Prime Minister's Office clarified Friday.
According to the statement, the US shared its intention to propose a ceasefire offer with Israel earlier this week, along with international and regional partners, with the aim of allowing civilians in the northern border area to return safely to their homes.
Israel declared that it shares the goals of the US-led initiative and also noted the importance of American efforts to promote stability and security in the region.
On Thursday, Israeli and US teams met for discussions on advancing the shared goal, and the discussions are expected to continue in the coming days.
