‘They Forgot Grandpa’: Megyn Reacts to ‘Infuriating’ Clip of Confused Joe Biden at Obama Event

After years of delays and controversy, the Obama Presidential Center and Museum finally opened to the public on Friday but not before a glitzy dedication ceremony on Thursday. 

The grand opening was a star-studded event attended by every living former president and first lady – except Donald and Melania Trump – and Obama-supporting celebs ranging from Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Oprah Winfrey to Bono, Bruce Springsteen, and Stevie Wonder.

Following a series of tedious and hypocritical speeches, the dedication wrapped and it was time to vacate the stage. The only problem? No one bothered to supervise former President Joe Biden, who was left dazed, confused, and asking for the granddaughter after everyone – including his wife, Jill Biden – left him to fend for himself in front of the crowd. Megyn’s Take

On Monday’s show, Megyn called the clip the most “infuriating” moment of the day and sounded off on why it is so maddening to watch. Below are her remarks, edited for length and clarity:

“We have to spend a minute on Joe. This is, in its own way, the most infuriating clip that I have seen in recent memory. As the event was wrapping up, everybody starting to leave, and what we saw was just like at that California fundraiser a month or two before the June 2024 debate when Biden had his meltdown. 

A month before that, he had a California fundraising event with George Clooney and the guys from Pod Save America, and, remember, we saw him freeze up on the stage and Barack had to go get him, hold his hand, and get him off stage. And then we were told that if we believed that, we were just watching deep fakes and it never really happened. Those, of course, were lies. 

Well, it happened again. Do you think that Barack and Jill, of all people, would know not to leave grandpa behind? He needs care and feeding. He is going to fall asleep in his tapioca, unless you got him by the hand. And we should know that by now. But apparently we forgot. 

Barack and Jill weren’t even looking back… and then there is Joe. It is funny, but it is also infuriating. He was standing there totally befuddled. He apparently said something as through he was looking for somebody. The camera operator has to pan up away from him because he knows this was uncomfortable. 

They forgot Grandpa. 

And here is what is so infuriating: They actually wanted us to put him back in office for a second term. They told us this person could be the leader of the free world for another four years. They told us that they wanted him to be in charge of the nuclear codes – that guy we just saw right there – for four more years and told us there was nothing wrong with his mental competency.

If it hadn’t been for a man named Donald Trump, they might have gotten away with it. It is a deeply scary and alarming betrayal, and it is immoral. That is the Democrat Party, and there has been no atonement. We are still dealing with their lies about that era in our history, and it is morally wrong.”
