Three people injured after getting trapped under car that crashed into Devon hospital

Three people have been injured after a car crashed into a hospital building in Devon.

Emergency services soon rushed to the scene at Torbay Hospital in Torquay to attend to the three victims, who were left trapped underneath the vehicle.


Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a call at 10.47am today reporting that a vehicle had collided with a cabin at Torbay Hospital, Torquay and there were reports of people trapped. Four crews from Torquay and Paignton fire stations were dispatched.

"On arrival the driver was already free and clear but two people were trapped under the car. Crews have lifted the vehicle and both casualties are now clear and being assessed by the ambulance service. Crews are still in attendance to assist partners and to ensure the scene is safe."
