Hongkongers vying for a chance to see British rock band Coldplay next year will have to pay between HK$399 and HK$2,099 (US$51 and US$270) to secure their tickets.

Local promoter Live Nation announced the details on Thursday, with the cheapest tickets being those for seated spots at the back of the soon-to-open Kai Tak stadium for HK$399. Other seated tiers included those in the HK$699, HK$999, HK$1,299, HK$1,699 and HK$2,099 price brackets.

Fans booking a spot in the standing area close to the front of the stage can expect to pay HK$1,399.

General ticket sales will begin on October 10, but some early booking options are also available.

Coldplay officially announced last month they would hold three concerts in the city on April 9, 11 and 12 next year, confirming an earlier exclusive report by the Post.

The group will be one of the first acts to perform at the stadium inside the HK$36 billion Kai Tak Sports Park.

The stadium can house up to 65,000 people with its standing area for concerts.
