A terrorist killed at least 15 people in an attack early Wednesday morning in New Orleans, and among those killed was a former football player for Princeton: Tiger Bech.
A New Orleans native, Bech suited up for the Tigers and was named to the All-Ivy League team as a kick returner. He played for Princeton from 2016-2018, and in his three seasons with the program, he tallied 825 receiving yards and three touchdowns off 53 passes.
Bech graduated from Princeton in 2021 and pursued a career in finance, ultimately landing a gig in New York City as a stockbroker. He was home in Louisiana for the holidays.
Bech was the older brother of Jack Bech, who currently plays as a wide receiver at TCU.
Jack confirmed the news of Tiger’s death in a tribute to his brother via Twitter.
“Love you always brother ! You inspired me everyday now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don’t worry. This is for us,” wrote the Horned Frog.
The terrorist, identified by the FBI as Shamsud Din Jabbar, drove a truck into a New Year’s celebration crowd in New Orleans, killing at least 15 people and injuring several others.
Authorities found an ISIS flag, weapons and a possible IED in his vehicle, while other potential IEDs were found in the French Quarter.
