A person has died and a child has been left with life-threatening injuries after a car was struck by a train at a level crossing in Lancashire.
The collision occurred at round 8.50am today at a crossing in Hoghton, near Preston, British Transport Police has confirmed.
Paramedics and fire crews attended the scene, with no injuries reported among passengers or staff on the train.
