‘Transformers One’ Sets Streaming Release on Paramount+

Transformers One” is racing to streaming after releasing in theaters last month. The family-friendly film, directed by Josh Cooley, will stream on exclusively on Paramount+ starting Nov. 15.

The animated film, the first in the franchise’s history since 1986, also became available on digital last month. It’s now available to purchase on 4K Ultra HD. for $24.99 for $19.99 online on Prime Video, Apple TV and other video-on-demand platforms. Meanwhile, the film is also set to release on DVD and 4K Ultra HD Steelbook with prices starting at $24.86 on Tuesday, Dec. 17 on Amazon.

As for the film itself, Variety’s senior editor Todd Gilchrist called “Transformers One,” “the fun and excitement expected of Hasbro’s metamorphosizing robots, ‘Transformers One’ approaches the well-known characters with a degree of nuance and complexity (as well as violent finality, in a few cases) that marks the most sophisticated onscreen portrait of them to date.”

Transformers One” is an origin story about how Optimus Prime (voiced by Chris Hemsworth) and Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry) went from best friends to bitter enemies, while the pair try to free their home planet of Cybertron from the nefarious Sentinel Prime (Jon Hamm).

The animated film has a voice cast also featuring Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, Isaac C. Singleton Jr., Vanessa Liguori, Jason Konopisos-Alvarez, Jon Bailey, Evan Michael Lee and more.
