President-elect Donald Trump confirmed Monday he would declare a “national emergency” to deport illegal migrants using “military assets” once he steps back into office early next year.

Trump made the statement on Truth Social, responding “TRUE!!!” to a post from Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton citing reports he would do so.

“GOOD NEWS: Reports are the incoming @RealDonaldTrump administration prepared to declare a national emergency and will use military assets to reverse the Biden invasion through a mass deportation program,” Fitton wrote on the social media platform.

Trump has vowed to enact the largest deportation in history, starting when he takes the oath of office Jan. 20.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

I thought Posse Comitatus Act was done away with under the Clinton administration?

Military use can be justified in several different ways for this task. It’s got to be done.

How many illegals can you fit into a C17?

I agreed. Something needs to be done to get this cancer out of our country. Especially Tren de Aragua, which should be terminated on site.

agreed, why give the plan on how you will do it. Just do it and be done with it.
That said, deport them where? You know there home countries will not take them back.

This will give Ann Coulter a writer’s block, making it hard to figure out how to fuss at Trump.

Operation Wetvback 1954

In June, command teams of 12 Border Patrol agents, buses, planes, and temporary processing stations began locating, processing, and deporting Mexicans who had illegally entered the United States. A total of 750 immigration and border patrol officers and investigators; 300 jeeps, cars and buses; and seven airplanes were allocated for the operation. Teams were focused on quick processing, as planes were able to coordinate with ground efforts and quickly deport people into Mexico. Those deported were handed off to Mexican officials, who in turn moved them into central Mexico where there were many labor opportunities. While the operation included the cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago, its main targets were border areas in Texas and California.

Overall, there were 1,074,277 "returns", defined as "confirmed movement of an inadmissible or deportable alien out of the United States not based on an order of removal" in the first year of Operation Wetback. This included many workers without papers who fled to Mexico fearing arrest; over half a million from Texas alone. The total number of sweeps fell to just 242,608 in 1955, and continuously declined each year until 1962, when there was a slight rise in apprehended workers. Despite the decline in sweeps, the total number of Border Patrol agents more than doubled to 1,692 by 1962, and an additional plane was added to the force.
