President Trump embraced the teary-eyed mother of 12-year-old Jacob Freytes — the Bronx boy allegedly shot dead by a career criminal last month — as he promised to get tougher on crime during a pro-police event on Long Island Friday.

The president paused his speech at the Nassau County Police Academy in Garden City, to acknowledge Migdalia Martinez, whose son was fatally hit by a stray bullet outside a Bronx bodega in July.

“Horrible, horrible things. We’re going after these sick people,” Trump promised the crowd after the emotional moment.
