Trump goes after Chip Roy (X)

The very unpopular "Congressman" from Texas, Chip Roy, is getting in the way, as usual, of having yet another Great Republican Victory - All for the sake of some cheap publicity for himself. Republican obstructionists have to be done away with. The Democrats are using them, and we can't let that happen. Our Country is far better off closing up for a period of time than it is agreeing to the things that the Democrats want to force upon us. Biden is President, and it's his obligation to properly lead. We're there to do the right thing, and we can't agree with what Biden and the Democrats are demanding. Weak and ineffective people like Chip have to be dismissed as being utterly unknowledgeable as to the ways of politics, and as to Making America Great Again. Put "America First," and go for the Victory, even if it means shutting the Government down for a period of time. We had an overwhelming Victory just four weeks ago, and we're not going to let the Democrats forget it so quickly!

Nothing good has ever come out of Texas.

Roy’s response: https://x.com/chiproytx/status/1869840234621612353
“My position is simple – I am not going to raise or suspend the debt ceiling (racking up more debt) without significant & real spending cuts attached to it. I’ve been negotiating to that end. No apologies.”

Honestly, a lot of pork sounds like it was removed.

“The very unpopular “Congressman” from Texas, Chip Roy ...”
Not really. In the 2024 election Roy won 61.9% to 35%.

Here’s a thought, how about not spending more than you have. The ceiling is meaningless. Balance a budget like you’re supposed to, and you won’t have to worry about debt.

Trump was a Big Spender in his first term.
Roy is not wrong.

What is he accused of doing exactly?

Jeez, Mr. President, Chip Roy is one of your fearless warriors. You could use another 100 like him in Congress.

“Trump was a Big Spender in his first term.”

And likely will be again, but the excessive level of debt and the cost of debt service may constrain him somewhat. We’ll soon see but its a concern for sure.

Yeah, I disagree with Trump on this one. But unfortunately, Trump also needs some capital to work with also. The problem has been McCarthy, followed by Mike Johnson. Bad for Republicans, and even worse for America.
You can work with DOGE, Chip Roy. That is what their role is, to cut the spending massively. we appreciate, but we have to spend while cutting spending more than we spend in order to raise more revenue generation.
