President Donald Trump is pressing Republican lawmakers to pass permanent daylight saving time, a change that would eliminate the twice-yearly clock adjustments that disrupt the lives of millions of Americans.
The effort centers on the Sunshine Protection Act, which would make daylight saving time (DST) the year-round standard across the country. The bill would make “spring forward” the new normal, with later sunsets and no more fall adjustments.
