President-elect Donald Trump gave a sneak peek about who would join his next administration as he prepares to retake The White House.
In a post on his Truth Social, Trump said that former UN ambassador Nikki Haley and former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would not be included in his second administration.
'I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation,' Trump posted on social media.
'I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our country.'
Haley, who received more Republican primary votes than anyone who challenged Trump, did not appear on the campaign trail for him despite repeatedly claiming she was 'on standby.'

Mike Pompeo spoke at a recent Trump rally and will also have no part in the second term
Haley had been a brutally honest critic of the former president, even after his MSG rally which she predicted was 'gonna make women uncomfortable.'
Pompeo, who also served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency under Trump, was considered by The Wall Street Journal to be a possible defense secretary.
Veteran strategist Roger Stone singled out both Pompeo and Haley in a blog post on Friday, claiming they can not be trusted.
'If Pompeo is placed into the next Trump administration, his history shows he would promote the hegemony of the deep state rather than an authentic America First agenda,' Stone wrote.
As for Haley, Stone called her 'a political chameleon who has changed with the times in ways that are incredibly self-serving,'
The statement from Trump comes as he has already begun to shape his transition.

Trump has named Susie Wiles as his next chief of staff
Susie Wiles has been tapped to be his White House chief of staff — making her the first woman ever named for the role of gatekeeper to the president.
The 67-year-old ran the campaign that propelled him to an historic election win over Democrat Kamala Harris on Tuesday night.
Wiles ran his race from behind the scenes and is one of the most feared and effective political operatives in the nation.
The key aide appeared alongside him as he declared victory with his family and staff in West Palm Beach, Florida.
'Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns,' Trump said in a statement Thursday. 'Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected.
Wiles and campaign co-chair Chris LaCivita are credited with keeping Trump's third presidential campaign mostly drama-free.
