Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees seem to have the wind at their back. Even Pete Hegseth, the subject of non-stop media harassment since his nomination, made it through his Senate hearing largely unscathed. But besides blanket Establishment hostility, there’s something else these otherwise diverse nominees have in common. Often, they have been victims of the institutions they’ve now been appointed to lead. And that makes them uniquely qualified to lead.
