Trump supports immigration visas backed by Musk: ‘I have many H-1B visas on my properties’

President-elect Trump told The Post Saturday he supports immigration visas for highly skilled workers, appearing to side with Elon Musk in the roiling intra-MAGA debate on the issue.

“I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them,” Trump said by phone, referring to the H-1B program, which permits companies to hire foreign workers in specialty occupations.

“I have many H-1B visas on my properties. I’ve been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program,” added Trump, who restricted access to foreign worker visas in his first administration and has been critical of the program in the past. Oara Musk and other tech barons argued this week that the H-1B visa program is critical to ensuring American companies can find highly skilled labor which may not be easily available in the U.S. labor force and must be expanded.

MAGA hardliners want Trump to follow through with his promise to promote US workers and impose tougher restrictions on immigration.

Trump’s Saturday comments come a day after Musk vowed to go to “war” on the issue, telling one mocking opponent to go “f–k yourself.”

*** Musk fired back: “The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla, and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B.” ***

Thank you very much and God bless you.

To those of you who were excoriating Musk regarding his H1B comments, Trump appears to have embraced Musk’s position. Feel free to engage in mental gymnastics, logical fallacies, and the much favored ad hominem attacks.

Trump’s position on this has always been clear - no illegal immigration, but yes to legal immigration from people the US wants and needs. H1-B abuses need to be stopped, there’s no denying that - but if you want all legal immigration stopped, Trump never agreed to that.

Well this is going to drop like a lead brick...

The Gaslight Media apparently is right back to its old tricks, undeterred by their drubbing in November.

The H1B workers can’t vote. The workers that lost their jobs to H1B workers can vote.

Exactly. Throughout the campaign, Trump mentioned that illegal immigration was going to be stopped.

Legal immigration is fine.

Remember Trump's wife is an immigrant.

To: thegagline

Why can’t this be two things.

No to open border illegal immigration.

Yes to legal immigration but with reforms. He was reforming it in his last admin. Biden undid it with a stroke of a pen.

Instead, we dance on the string of those who seek to divide us. It’s all this or all that. No thanks. I will think for myself.

Get rid of the illegals first and then we can talk about how many people can come here legally.

Start combing Twitter for examples of h1b visas. It is disgusting to think you can’t get a plumber or cook or laborer in the US and have to go to India to get one.
