A local news anchor in Texas is embracing a blooper that made him go viral earlier this week.
FOX 26 Houston evening anchor Anthony Antoine was seen stumbling and stuttering through multi-syllable medical words during a segment about Houston Methodist Hospital nabbing a spot on the US News & World Report's Honor Roll on Tuesday.
'I just had the worst mess-up of my career,' he said in a self-filmed social clip posted shortly thereafter.
He told followers he was sharing 'to try to laugh this off' and 'for me not to cry.'
'So y'all have fun with this. And I'll see you tomorrow after I've had some sleep. Enjoy.'
The footage followed.
'Leading the national rankings in gastroenterology, placed 5th, obst- obste- gynecolol-, wow, what the?' Antoine said.
The anchor had been trying to detail how the hospital's obstetrics and gynecology department ranked seventh in the survey.

The blooper came during a segment about Houston Methodist Hospital being named on the US News & World Report's Honor Roll
'And cardiology took the tenth spot,' he finished.
An off-air Antoine again appeared before the camera.
'When I read that script at my desk, I didn't have that problem. I didn't have that problem,' he said after offering followers a dead-pan look.
He explained what went down behind the scenes.
'But when I saw that in the teleprompter, if you know a teleprompter, sometimes, it's like, one word in two lines.
'And my brain could not connect.'
Antoine recalled feeling 'scared' in the moment, 'because the words in my brain and my mouth, they were not connecting.'
'I could have just said "OBGYN". Or, "Obstetrics and Gynecology",' he lamented. 'I thought I had it.'
Antoine said he was sharing to 'laugh off' the 'worst moment of his career.' He was all smiles in the segment's final cut as well
He recalled his train-of-thought at the time: 'I had to - "What the?" - [because] I was confused as to why I was struggling.'
'Like, "what the? Huh?"' he added.
'You live and you learn, man. But hey. I do it again tomorrow and I'm damn good at my job - it is what it is.'
Antoine later posted a video of him fumbling over the words and then dissolving into laughter during the commercial break. He then repeated the problem words again, with a bit more success.
'Oh my God! I cannot believe that just happened to me,' he laughed.
Antoine joined Fox Houston as an evening news anchor in 2023. He previously worked as a morning news anchor in Richmond, Virginia, after working his way all the way up from a camera operator to a host on WCIA3 in Champaign, Illinois.
