In a post to X on March 7, 2025, Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS), announced that she had caught the two people guilty of leaking operational information about ICE raids. She says this is a serious matter, and the leakers can expect lengthy prison sentences. Online commenters were quick to express their support for Noem and the DHS in combating illegal immigration.

“We have identified criminal leakers within @DHSgov and are preparing to refer these perpetrators to the @TheJusticeDept for felony prosecutions. These individuals face up to 10 years in federal prison. We will find and root out all leakers. They will face prison time & we will get justice for the American people,” her post read. She also attached a video which provided more details.

“Hi everyone, I wanted to give you a quick update. We have identified two leakers of information here at the Department of Homeland Security who have been telling individuals about our operations and putting law enforcement lives in jeopardy,” she said in the video. ” We plan to prosecute these two individuals and hold them accountable for what they’ve done, and we’re going to continue to do all that we can to keep America safe.”

Tricia McLaughlin, a spokeswoman for DHS echoed Noem’s words when she said the DHS was “preparing to refer” the two leakers to the Department of Justice (DOJ) “for felony prosecutions.” “We are preparing to refer these perpetrators to the DOJ for felony prosecutions. These individuals face up to 10 years in federal prison,” McLaughlin said. “We will find and root out all leakers. They will face prison time, and we will get justice for the American people.”

Social media users poured out their support for Kristi Noem. “Thank you, thank you, thank you, Secretary Noem. The two individuals put our law enforcement officers in danger and should go to prison. They are a danger to the community,” one account said. “Well done Sec. Noem! Lock them up for life! They should really be tried with treason,” added another.

“I have to be quite honest with you…..I appreciate everything you’re doing, but we’d really like to see them walked out in handcuffs and shackles on a national television. I think it would send a message,” a comment bluntly stated. “Great job Secretary Noem, holding these leakers accountable is crucial for national security We need more officials like you who aren’t afraid to take on the deep state and corruption,” one reply read.

This comes just a few days after Pablo Manríquez, editor of Migrant Insider, took to X  to leak information about upcoming ICE raids in Northern Virginia. “ICE RAIDS are planned for Monday & Tuesday in Northern Virginia, per multiple sources who tell us ICE has obtained between 75 and 100 judicial warrants,” he posted to his personal account.

In response to the coverage, he tweeted out his defiance. “Funny thing about all these bros b*tching about my scoop is that none have asked for an interview. They aren’t news people because they’re not even trying to find out anything new. They’re just mediocre keyboard warriors with bully pulpits that are too easy to ignore,” he said.
