Two people have been injured and a has been man arrested after a car allegedly swerved towards crowds watching New Year's Eve fireworks at Primrose Hill in London.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight when a vehicle is said to have struck two pedestrians at the junction of Primrose Hill Road and Regent's Park Road.


A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, causing grievous bodily harm and possession of controlled drugs.

Video footage showed panicked revellers running away as police officers attended the scene.

The first pedestrian struck, a 21-year-old man, sustained minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

A 59-year-old man, who was the second person hit by the vehicle, required treatment from paramedics at the scene.

He was subsequently taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as non-life changing.

An investigation into the incident is currently underway.

A 17-year-old was charged with Harry's murder following the incident.

The accused teenager faces a retrial later this year after an Old Bailey trial ended with the jury unable to reach a verdict.
