Amidst all of the madness of college football Saturday night, the UFC’s Fight Night ended in scary fashion after an unusual finish in the final event.
During the main event of UFC Vegas 121, Raul Rosas Jr. beat Raoni Barcelos in an extremely confusing ending. Rosas took Barcelos down nearly two minutes into the final round before his opponent suddenly lost consciousness despite no obvious serious contact.

While devastating knockouts happen all the time, this was much different.
The health of Barcelos became the immediate concern. The veteran bantamweight is 39 years old, 18 years older than his opponent. Barcelos was stretchered out of the Octagon by the company’s medical team after his condition did not improve.

Rosas appeared shaken following the win, immediately addressing the health of his opponent during the post-fight interview.

Heading into the final round, Barcelos was up 3-1 on all three judges’ scorecards, including a 10-8 score in the fourth round from judge Chris Lee. But the strange finish was a win nonetheless, improving Rosas’s UFC record to 7-1.
It was an absolute war from both sides, with 10 takedowns between the fighters and 240 significant strikes.
