In an attempt to combat the increasing wave of knife attacks U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a ban on ninja swords on March 27.

In response to the country’s record-high knife-related crime rates, the U.K. government has imposed new strict measures to prohibit citizens from owning, manufacturing, or trading ninja swords. “We are acting with urgency to bring forward measures to prevent deadly weapons from getting into the wrong hands and will continue to do whatever is needed to prevent young people being killed on our streets as part of our mission to halve knife crime over the next decade, said Secretary of the Home Department of the United Kingdom Yvette Cooper.

Cooper stated that from July 1 to July 31, 2025, owners of ‘ninja swords’ will be paid market value for their swords by the government in a month-long government scheme to eliminate the weapons from circulation in the U.K., according to a government press release.  (RELATED: Suspect In Savage Knife Attack That Roiled Britain, Triggered Speech Crackdown Had Al-Qaida Manual At Home)
