GREECE, N.Y. — A 15-year-old boy may face permanent damage after he was stabbed on an RTS bus in Greece.

Nahziiryahzihn Ali, 18, is accused of stabbing the teenager during a fight on the bus just before 7 p.m. Wednesday on Long Pond Road near the Mall at Greece Ridge. Police said he started fighting with the victim, then stabbed him in the eye.

The victim is facing vision loss and likely will lose his eye completely. Ali has been charged with first-degree assault and is in the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.

The 15-year-old boy was taken to Strong Hospital after he was stabbed in the upper body. Police say his injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

The driver was not involved, RTS confirmed. In a statement, RTS Public Information Officer Tom Brede said:

“The RTS team works hard to provide safe, reliable, convenient, and sustainable transportation for our customers each day. It is frustrating and unacceptable that someone chose to settle their differences with violence on the bus and disrupt people trying to reach the important destinations in their lives. Our thoughts are with the customer who was injured and hope they make a speedy recovery.”

Brede Thursday added: “It disrupts our customers, it disrupts the operation, and people rely on us. More than 70 percent of our customers don’t have access to a car.”

Mark Sanders lives in Greece and takes the bus every day. He says he has been the victim of violence on the bus, but doesn’t believe more needs to be done.

“It could cost more money, but also, I mean, there’s no reason for that. It’s very rare it happens,” Sanders said.

Are eye stabbings a thing with Muslims? The Australian monk who appears on YouTube, his name escapes me at the moment, lost an eye recently after a young Muslim man tried to kill him.

Again, I’m surprised they even set bail for him. Usually they give offenders an appearance ticket in which over half don’t show up.

In 2022 novelist Salman Rushdie was stabbed in the eye (and elsewhere) by a brutal Muslim attacker. Rushdie lost sight in one eye and the use of one hand.

This attack didn’t happened in some third-world hell hole. It happened in Chautauqua, New York.

By the way, funny how quickly this story disappeared from the news.
