The mother of an autistic son in the United States has received help and love on the Chinese social media platform RedNote after she asked mainland users for kid-friendly recipes.

Francelia Moraga, 27, who is of Mexican descent asked for Chinese dishes for her son with autism on January 15.

She said she had been cooking Chinese dishes such as fried rice and orange chicken for him because he did not like Mexican food.

Her post received more than 17,000 likes and 3,000 comments, with many people giving warm-hearted suggestions, such as steamed eggs, sweet and sour pork, Coca-Cola chicken wings, and stir-fried tomato and scrambled eggs.

Some commented with well-illustrated step-by-step recipes and English instructions.
