I HATE THIS STORY. But what it demonstrates is the fragility of our maritime logistics system to support the fleet.

With just 14 fleet oilers, 2 Supply class fast combat stores ships and 12 dry cargo/ammo ships, we don't have much depth in the fleet to support multiple strike group deployments, routine operations and training. The 3 Lewis class oilers have not completed or past post-delivery acceptance.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Cue the Yakety Sax theme music again for the Pentagon idiots. $20 Billion worth of equipment and there was one ship to fuel it all?

The weakest point in a system is usually the best place to attack.

Perhaps the navy should even consider submarine tankers.

But you have trans admirals and tons of DEI. What more do they need?

Piloting and navigation are becoming lost arts in the New Navy.

In other words, if you can get to the tanker, you’ve crippled the strike group, and perhaps even made them sitting ducks.

Didn’t the Germans do that in WW II to refuel the U Boats?

Depending on DEI people to run the ship?

Why did it run aground?

My best guess is a female captain tried to parallel park it.

My friend and neighbor is a retired rear admiral. He tells me about things. The Navy is a wreck.
