A former beauty queen was forced to barricade her doors while she slept in a Dominican Republic resort room during a nightmarish trip.
Whitney Sharpe, 30, was staying at the Majestic Mirage in Punta Cana with roughly 90 guests in a wedding party when she and others began experiencing thefts and break-ins, she claimed in a TikTok video.
'RUN!!!! I felt like I was in a scary movie,' she wrote on Trip Advisor.
'I was there for a wedding and I think we were trying our best to make sure our friends that were getting married had a really amazing time,' she said in the TikTok video.
'So we were obviously trying to not make it as big of a deal as to what was actually going on... But it was a nightmare of a vacation. It was so unsafe.
'I was barricading my doors before I slept at night. I even took the belt of the bathrobe and tied the doors to use as a lock.'
The former 2016 Miss Massachusetts shared photos of her barricaded door, where she placed chairs and tables in front of it to block anyone from entering her room after others, including the bride's grandma, had their rooms broken into while they were sleeping.
Sharpe also claimed she had a $4,000 Van Cleef necklace stolen from her luggage - although she wasn't as hung up on the missing jewelry as her ex-boyfriend had purchased the item for her.

In a long Trip Advisor review - which was only posted to the site after Sharpe complained in her TikTok video - she claimed the resort was 'beyond dangerous.'
'Majority of us had something stolen,' she wrote. 'The bride’s grandma had her room broken into while she was sleeping and they even stole her CPAP machine that helps her breathe. Our friend in the room next door had laptops stolen.
'Because of this, I chose to have the do not disturb sign on my room.'
Despite the extra precautions, her necklace was still stolen. She also claimed resort staff were 'swiping wallets and phones out of bags' during the reception after guests left them on tables, and that she had charges on her bill she didn't make.
'They tried to show me receipts I apparently signed that was not in my handwriting,' she wrote on Trip Advisor.
She also claimed when she fled the hotel after checkout, that the 'taxi driver was in on it' and forced her to pay hundreds of dollars to be dropped off at the airport.
Sharpe also said she experienced cat-calling 'by almost every worker there,' and as a single woman, she felt that 'eyes are on you all the time and men [were] being aggressive.'
Her nightmare didn't end there, as the food was 'inedible,' she was given the wrong room and forced to sit in a 'holding room' for 90 minutes while they prepared another that smelled of 'musty mildew mold,' and had water 'flooding through the recessed lighting' that forced her to allow staff in unattended during the wedding.
Sharpe also claimed she had a $4,000 Van Cleef necklace (pictured) stolen from her luggage - although she wasn't as hung up on the missing jewelry as her ex-boyfriend had purchased the item for her
She believes the expensive necklace was stolen while she was at the wedding and had to allow staff to come into her room unattended to fix a water leakage problem. She also claimed the bride's grandmother had her CPAP machine stolen by staff

'I assume this is when my Van Cleef necklace was stolen. It’s the only time I had to authorize people in my room and of course it was during the wedding so I couldn’t be in there with them,' she wrote.
She ended her review with a final complaint: 'The bedding was itchy and thin.'
Although the former beauty-queen-turned-corporate-sales woman said she could have complained a lot more: 'I could go on but I'm at a character limit.'
DailyMail.com has reached out to Sharpe and Majestic Mirage for comment.
Sharpe isn't the only person who has claimed thefts have taken place at the resort, as a Victims of Majestic Mirage Punta Cana Thefts online group exists with nearly 60 members.
Plenty of people shared similar statements to Sharpe, claiming they had cash stolen out safes in their rooms and their bags checked by staff after claiming theft.
'Money,' Marta Belyakova wrote in the group after being asked what she had stolen. 'To be exact, every penny I had.'
