A new Roblox hit game gives players free speed if they’re willing to sit through short videos first, unless they pay Robux to skip them.
The game, called Steal An Egg, launched last month and has already racked up close to 300 million plays, arriving right behind Catch a Brainrot, the platform’s latest cash-in on its own meme obsession.
However, for Steal An Egg, the mysterious catch turns out to be a TikTok-style feed built into a treadmill lifted straight from Black Mirror’s Fifteen Million Merits.
Roblox YouTuber Foltyn had never heard of Steal An Egg before loading in to find 150,000 people already playing. In the game, progress runs through a Speed stat, and the only way to raise it is by standing on a treadmill at your base with a TikTok-style video feed built directly into the screen.
Players can like, comment, and share clips without ever stepping off, and the feed runs its own attention games inside the game itself.
So, in other words, training your character in this Roblox game becomes a scroll session dressed up as a game mechanic.

That is not an overstatement, by the way, a YouTuber whose entire career is based on streaming Roblox experiences goes from “I have a treadmill now. What? Wait, what is this?” to “This is going to have kids scrolling forever. How do I get out? Oh my gosh, this is not good” really quick. He then concludes, “This game is going to rot everybody’s brains.”
It’s hard not to think of Black Mirror’s Fifteen Million Merits, the episode where citizens pedal bikes to earn credits while forced to watch screens, except nobody made Steal An Egg’s players do this, yet nearly 300 million of them climbed on willingly.
Roblox has built a habit of turning odd little loops like this into genuine phenomena. Steal A Brainrot pulled almost 24 million players in a single day doing something similarly repetitive, so a treadmill that rewards you for scrolling might be exactly strange enough to be next.
