CV NEWS FEED // Volvo’s recent commercial celebrating pregnancy and family has gone viral on X, garnering 5.3 million views in one post featuring the video.
The advertisement begins with a young woman telling her partner that she is expecting a baby, in what seems to be an unexpected pregnancy. The man calls his mother and tells her, “You’re going to be a grandma.”
He adds, “I’m scared, Mum.” When she asks him why, he says, “About it all, you know… the nights, the responsibility… We’re gonna need a bigger place.”
“I’ll help with all that,” she responds. Her son answers, “I know. Bless you, you’re so sweet.”
As they continue talking, the woman leaves the house to pick up food. At the same time, the viewer sees a different woman enter her car and start driving.
The man envisions his baby’s future, and says that he thinks the baby will be a little girl. He imagines her whole future, and the joys and sorrows of parenting.
While the unknown woman is driving, she comes to the intersection where the future mother is crossing. Her car stops just in time to miss the pregnant woman.
The commercial reads, “Sometimes the moments that never happen matter the most.” The camera opens on the father entering the hospital room with his baby.
The commercial shows one more line of text saying that the Volvo EX90 “Designed to be the safest car ever made, for life.”
Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips posted the article on his X account, writing, “While Jaguar is pushing debauchery, Volvo just put out the most moving, pro-family, pro-life car ad of all time. This is the way.”
Recently, Jaguar rebranded their logo and published a futuristic commercial featuring a neon color palette and a man in a dress.
