Meanwhile, National Reporter Charlie Peters has been shortlisted for best News Presenter following his critical investigation into the grooming gangs scandal across Britain.

This has included presenting the groundbreaking documentary Grooming Gangs: Britain’s Shame.

His reporting has led to the Government's announcement of plans for a national review into grooming gangs, as well as five Government-supported local inquiries across the country.

Commenting on the nominations, GB News’ Editorial Director, Mick Booker, said: "The ever-growing popularity of The People’s Channel is recognised in these two award nominations.

"These are voted for by the public, so a TRIC award nomination is particularly special.

"GB News is hugely proud of those who have been nominated and we are very grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for us."

The TRIC Awards, now in their 56th year, will take place at Grosvenor House on Park Lane in London on June 24.

They are expected to attract an audience of more than 1,000 guests from across the TV and media industry, with the ceremony also available to the general public to stream live.
