Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria, has called on global investors to explore the West African country’s expanding investment landscape, emphasizing its readiness for modernization and robust business opportunities. Speaking at the “Roadmap to Co-create Investment Opportunities for Africa’s Frontier Markets” forum during the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, Shettima highlighted key initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the Calabar-Lagos coastal highway, and the West African gas pipeline as examples of forward-thinking projects that demonstrate Africa’s readiness for foreign investments. Furthermore, Shettima assured the audience that Nigeria, under President Bola Tinubu, is committed to creating a favorable climate for investments. Finally, he countered negative perceptions of Africa, likening its potential to a “sleeping giant” awakening to global significance.
