CV NEWS FEED // Vice President JD Vance will be one of the speakers addressing the 52nd annual March for Life in Washington D.C. Friday.
“Vice President JD Vance will make his first public appearance after the inauguration festivities to speak at the March for Life Rally,” the March for Life Education and Defense Fund stated in a Thursday press release.
March for Life President Jeanne Mancini and President-elect Jennie Bradley Lichter noted in a joint statement that they are “thrilled” Vance has made this decision, calling it “a sign of his commitment to standing up for life.”
“President Trump governed as a pro-life president during his first term which resulted in a long list of accomplishments,” Mancini and Lichter added. “We will look forward to working with him and Vice President Vance as they dismantle the Biden Administration’s aggressive and unpopular abortion agenda and once again put wins on the board for vulnerable unborn children and their mothers.”
The March’s release indicated that other planned speakers at the Washington D.C. march will include House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-LA, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-SD, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and surfer and author Bethany Hamilton, whose story was featured in the 2011 film “Soul Surfer.”

In October 2023, then-Sen. Vance addressed that year’s second annual Ohio March for Life in the state capitol of Columbus.
“I want us over the next few years to remind ourselves that for 50 years in this country, unborn babies were cast aside,” the now-vice president told marchers, referring to the time when Roe v. Wade was the law of the land. “We told our society that everything, that education, that jobs, that everything was more important than the most vulnerable people in our society.”
“It was a mistake and we did it for 50 years,” he said. “So, over the next 50 years of the fight for life … do not despair, ladies and gentlemen. Let’s keep on fighting for life.”
Vance’s comments came nine months after he was sworn into office to represent Ohio in the U.S. Senate, and just under a year and a half after the Supreme Court’s landmark Dobbs decision overturned Roe.
Also in his Columbus remarks, Vance assured pregnant women worried about being able to raise a baby, “We are going to be there to help you out.”
“To the families that are terrified of healthcare costs of bringing new life into the world,” he continued, “we are going to be there for you.”
“For the millions of babies as yet unborn in this country,” Vance went on, “we are going to fight for you every step of the way.”
