An urgent recall has been issued for more than 16,800 fabric dressers sold through Walmart after the furniture failed federal stability tests meant to prevent children from being crushed in tip-over incidents.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Thursday that about 16,809 EnHomee 9-Drawer Fabric Dressers are being recalled because they can tip over if they are not anchored to a wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that could seriously injure or kill children.
The agency said the dressers fail to meet the mandatory federal stability standards for clothing storage units required under the STURDY Act, which was enacted to help prevent deadly furniture tip-over accidents involving children.
The recalled dressers were sold on Walmart.com by third-party seller Raybee-Direct between September 2023 and March 2026 for about $80.
Available in white, brown, gray and black, the units feature nine fabric drawers supported by a metal frame, and only dressers ordered before March 30, 2026, are included in the recall.
The CPSC said it has received no reports of injuries or incidents involving the recalled dressers.
However, the agency is urging consumers to stop using the units immediately unless they are securely anchored to a wall and to move any unanchored dressers to an area that children cannot access.

To get a refund, consumers must submit a photo showing the dresser has been disposed of.
The dressers that are being recalled were manufactured in China by Xuzhou Mingquanhe Household Co., Ltd. and imported by Changsha Yiman KEji Youxian Gongsi, which is doing business under Raybee-Direct.

'The safety of our customers is a top priority. We expect suppliers and third-party sellers whose products are offered through our platforms to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and our policies,' a Walmart spokesperson told the Daily Mail.
'When items are recalled, we work quickly to remove the recalled items from our platform, notify customers who purchased the recalled item, and put controls in place to prevent them from being listed in the future.'
