Wardogs is finally here, launching into Early Access following an extremely successful series of betas, which saw hundreds of thousands of players diving in. But that hasn’t stopped the game from being review-bombed following major server queues.
When Wardogs entered its first beta, it blew up, with fans jumping in to try the tactical shooter, to explore the best settings, weapons, gear, and level up their favorite roles to get rich fast and just perfect their skills.
That only snowballed with each beta, and the game has reached a new major high following its release into early access, which saw a peak player count of 340,171 on September 11. However, despite the huge player count, fans have been review-bombing the shooter, blaming massive queues and server errors.
Wardogs devs respond following server queue frustration
Currently, despite over 200,000 players diving in, the reviews sit at “Mixed” on Steam, with an average review score of 66% according to SteamDB.
For many, this refers to the sizeable login queues fans experienced as the game released, with many speculating that “streamers and other influencers are given preferential treatment by being allowed to skip the login queue”
SteamdbOne reviewer wrote: “If your servers cannot handle the number of players, then improve the infrastructure instead of creating a two-class system where influencers get priority access.”
“All my game time is in lobby trying to get in a server,” wrote another, while one echoed the sentiment, saying, “I bought a full-priced login queue simulator. I have been stuck waiting in queue positions for hours, watching the numbers barely crawl, only to get an authentication error and be booted to the back of the line. Meanwhile, developers gave streamers a fast-track VIP pass straight onto the servers to create hype and make the game look flawless on Twitch.”
This is how many people are through the queue.
We are letting people through in waves.

Following the frustration, the developers were quick to respond, keeping fans updated as to the state of the queues. The CEO wrote: “I gotta take the L on this one guys, we’ve got it but it’s on me here. This is why we release on a Thursday.”
Despite the frustrations, the developers revealed that the queues had been diminished and players should be able to access a match much faster, apologising for the delay.
