To celebrate the return of Verdansk, Warzone is reverting back to the faster TTK that players loved on the original map, but not every weapon benefits from the change.

The Season 3 update brings the long-awaited return of Verdansk, the first Warzone map that players fell in love with back in 2020. In addition to the map itself, the devs are also making plenty of changes to fully recreate that OG feeling.

Movement has been adjusted to feel more like it did launch and many of the redeployment methods have been removed to bring back the tension in every gunfight.

The time-to-kill has also been adjusted in an effort to make fights as fast and frantic as they were at the time. However, not every gun has been given the same treatment.

Black Ops 6 guns buffed to recreate Verdansk TTK

In the Warzone Season 3, a whole host of weapon changes were revealed, with virtually every Black Ops 6 weapon receiving a major damage buff. The devs explained that this was done to try and stay true to the original design philosophy of the game, and remove anything that gets in the way.

“Call of Duty: Warzone was designed to deliver the essence of a Call of Duty Battle Royale, combining exceptional, precise gunplay with a strategic and intense ‘limited life’ scenario,” they explained. “While this score principle remains intact, certain distractions have at times impacted the intended pacing and intensity of gameplay.”

“Our goal with these changes to to increase the lethality of every encounter, reinvigorate overlooked weapon classes, and encourage players to adopt a more thoughtful and deliberate strategy.”

Season 3 brings substantial weapon buffs.

However, these major buffs only apply to Black Ops 6 weapons to begin with, meaning that the MW3 and MW2 guns have been left untouched.

With this in mind, it’s likely that the newer guns will dominate the meta once Season 3 begins on April 3, as they will naturally kill faster than their older counterparts. Meanwhile, former favorites like the BP50 and MCW will be left behind, as running them leaves you at a disadvantage.

This dominance won’t last forever, though, as it was confirmed that legacy weapons will also be getting a damage buff in future updates. So while you can expect the likes of the Cyhper 091 and Kilo 141 to be the go-tos when Verdansk returns, they’ll face stiffer competition in future seasons.
