Former and incoming First Lady Melania Trump recently addressed her plans to return to the White House following her husband’s inauguration on Monday.  During an interview with Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt, Melania addressed what will be different this time around compared to their first experience in 2017 with the Obama family, who she suggested was less than helpful with the transition planning.

Earhardt initially asked Melania what she expected the transition to be like, considering it wasn’t their first go-round. “Behind the scenes, what is it like when you’re moving back in the White House? What’s different this time?” The first lady responded, “The difference is I know where I will be going. I know the rooms where we will be leaving. I know the process.”

Melania continued, “The first time was challenging. We didn’t have much of the information.”  Seemingly calling out the Obama’s for withholding valuable information from them, she added, “The information was upheld for us from the previous administration. But this time I have everything. I have the plans I could move in. I already packed, I already selected the furniture that needs to go in. So it’s, it’s a very different transition this time, the second time around.”

Furthermore, Earhardt inquired about the Biden’s wondering if they were still residing in the White House. “How have the Biden’s been? Have they been accommodating, and are they still living there?” Confirming that President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden have not vacated the White House, Melania noted, “They’re still living there, and they will be out on January 20.”

Melania also explained the tight window of time, where the transition team has just 5 hours to get Joe and Jill Biden out and move the Trump’s in.  “So what happened is, on January 20, the transition team has only five hours to move Biden’s out and to move us in,” Melania said, before emphasizing the degree of planning that must occur. “So everything needs to be planned to the minute.”

The American Tribune recently reported that former First Lady Michelle Obama would not be attending the upcoming inauguration on Monday, where her absence was not explained.  This comes just days after Michelle was unable to attend Jimmy Carter’s funeral.  “Former President Barack Obama is confirmed to attend the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies.” Former first lady Michelle Obama will not attend the upcoming inauguration,” a statement from the Office of Barrack and Michelle Obama said.

The Tribune reported on comments from the former first lady when she was on the campaign trail with Kamala Harris days before the election, where she sparked backlash for suggesting that Trump was suffering from “mental decline.” Michelle said, “I hope that you will forgive me if I’m a little frustrated that some of us are choosing to ignore Donald Trump’s gross incompetence while asking Kamala to dazzle us at every turn. I hope that you will forgive me if I’m a little angry that we are indifferent to Donald Trump’s erratic behavior. His obvious mental decline, his history as a convicted felon, a known slumlord, a predator found liable for sexual abuse. All of this while we pick apart Kamala’s answers from interviews that he doesn’t even have the courage to do.”
