Riot Games has removed Waylay from Valorant due to a new issue with her Refract ability.
Over the last few months, Valorant players have reported a few issues with Agents getting an unintended upper hand over their opponents. Back in May, Neon was temporarily removed from the game as her Fast Lane ability gave some players a wallhack.
An issue with Cypher’s spycam being able to shoot weapons followed at the end of the same month too, forcing Riot to temporarily kick him out of the game as well.
Now, with July coming to a close, they’ve been forced to do the same thing with Waylay, as her Refract ability is giving players “incorrect visual information” in-game.
Waylay removed from Valorant, for now
“We’re aware of a bug that’s causing Waylay to see incorrect visual information after using her Refract ability,” the Valorant devs said on July 31.
“Due to the implications on competitive integrity, we are disabling Waylay until we deploy a fix. We’ll send out an update when the fix is live.”
Some players have reported still being able to use Waylay in game modes that don’t utilise any abilities, such as team deathmatch, while others are finding themselves locked out in Ranked.
This isn’t the only problem that has affected Waylay in recent weeks. A bug that allowed her to clip into walls on Icebox after using Lightspeed and Refract was patched in the 13.02 patch. However, players have reported that she is still able to get under the map.
Back in late May, console players also reported that they could gain extra speed while dashing with Waylay and switching to flex. There have also been different unintended spots being found by her, too.
It remains to be seen as to how long Waylay will be out of rotation for, but it’ll be a few days at the very least.
