U.S. — Autonomous car giant Waymo introduced a new "Islam Mode" for passengers to select that will direct the car to mow down as many civilians as possible.
The new update came as Waymo was working to meet the desires of a growing range of customers.
"We want to accommodate those who just want to reach their destination safely as well as those who want to inflict maximum casualties," explained Waymo CEO Rashad Fiero. "To that end, we are proud to introduce the all-new ‘Islam Mode' for our vehicles. Simply select ‘Islam Mode' when you enter the vehicle, then sit back and relax as the car mows down one infidel after another. You'll be high-fiving with Allah in no time."
Though many Muslims welcomed the new option, some argued that it portrayed Islam in a bad light. "It's frankly offensive. Some of us just want to cheer for cars running over infidels, not actually be in the car ourselves," said local man Mohammed Khan. "To call this ‘Islam Mode' is a gross oversimplification of how much an individual Muslim might want to slaughter people. We demand Waymo address this immediately."
At publishing time, Waymo had addressed the pushback by adding an "Islam Lite" option, which would drive the car nearby to cheer on a passenger who is in full "Islam Mode."
