Fortnite downtime went live on March 25 for the 34.20 update. Here’s how long the downtime lasted and when the servers came back online.

While scheduled maintenance and downtime are typically announced well before the next Fortnite update, unexpected server crashes, unscheduled downtime, and urgent hotfixes can sometimes cause them to go down without warning.

This often prompts players to check Fortnite’s server status for real-time updates. Below, you’ll find the current status and when the downtime will end.

How long is Fortnite’s downtime today?

The Fortnite servers are online and working. The downtime today was 1 hour 30 minutes long with the downtime ending at 2:30 AM PT / 5:30 AM ET / 9:30 AM GMT.

The servers were down for a much shorter period than previous updates, which have been around 2-4 hours long.

Epic Games announced the 34.20 update downtime had ended via their Fortnite Status Twitter/X account.

How to check Fortnite server status

To see if the game’s servers are down or offline outside of this page, you’ll need to visit the Fortnite server status page on Epic Games’ official website.

If servers are not responding or are labeled “Under Maintenance,” players may experience disruptions. A green “Operational” label means the game is running normally.

When an issue is flagged, or downtime begins, it will be noted and highlighted. You can click on the plus symbol next to ‘Fortnite’ if you want more information about any specific service like parties, voice chat, stats, and more.
