Where is Letten in The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past? New region explained

The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past was unveiled at Gamescom 2026, revealing the brand-new setting: Letten.

Songs of the Past arrives in 2027, and it follows a free remaster of the original game with improved graphics, combat, a skill tree revamp, and more, which arrives on September 29.

While bridging the gap between The Witcher 3 and The Witcher 4, it brings Geralt to Letten, an “idyllic land” with a “dark curse.” It has a strong connection to a fan-favorite character, so here’s everything we know about Songs of the Past’s new region.

Where is Letten in The Witcher 3?

Letten is Dandelion’s homeland (his real name is Julian Alfred Pankratz, Viscount de Lettenhove) and the new region for the Songs of the Past expansion.

CD Projekt Red revealed it’s located “in the north, somewhere halfway between Kovir and Kaedwen.”

To be precise, it’s on the southern shore of the Nimnar River. We don’t know exactly where, but it’s somewhere in the area marked on the map below:

The Witcher 4 is set in Kovir and Poviss, and with Songs of the Past said to bridge the gap between the two games, it makes sense for the action to take place near the next game’s setting.

Its location isn’t revealed in any of the books or games, so you likely won’t find it on any fan-made map until the game releases.

The official description reads: “The idyllic realm of Letten is yours to explore. The homeland of Geralt’s greatest friend, Dandelion the bard, is steeped in rural tradition and full of buried secrets, bringing even more content to one of the most critically-acclaimed RPGs of all time.”

Letten is “filled with classic Witcher tales waiting to be discovered,” as Geralt “fights to uncover the dark curse at Letten’s center… One that only he can solve.”
