A royal commentator has said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle "seem to wear out their welcome" wherever they "drop their anchor", be it "Portugal, Canada, Montecito or Frogmore", following Donald Trump's election victory, as questions arise over the Duke's US visa status.

Cohen spoke to GB News as scrutiny intensifies over Prince Harry's immigration status in America, with Trump previously suggesting he could take "appropriate action" regarding the Duke's visa.

Earlier this year, Trump hinted he would intervene regarding Prince Harry's visa "if he lied" about taking drugs in the past.

The controversy stems from Harry's admissions of drug use, including cocaine and marijuana, in his memoir "Spare".

He added: "With Donald Trump's historic landmark landslide win, I imagine there have been some sleepless nights in Montecito."

The comments reflect growing uncertainty about the Duke's future in America under a Trump presidency.

The Washington-based Heritage Foundation previously sought to make Harry's visa records public, but lost their case in September when a judge ruled they should remain private.

The think-tank has since submitted a new court filing to reopen the case, claiming they were not allowed to see private submissions to the judge by the Biden administration.

Reports suggest the Sussexes have purchased a home in Portugal, where Harry's cousin Princess Eugenie spends half her time, potentially offering a backup plan.

The couple visited the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club in Melides last year.

Reports suggest Harry's future could rest with Trump's choice for Secretary of State, with Ric Grenell emerging as a potential candidate.

Grenell, who previously served as US ambassador to Germany and acting director of national intelligence, has been critical of Meghan in the past.

Following the Sussexes' 2021 Oprah interview, Grenell tweeted: "Meghan Markle is the classic American woke progressive. She doesn't want to do the work but is outraged she doesn't get the freebies."

Another potential candidate is Senator Marco Rubio, though he has not previously commented on Prince Harry.
