Color crush: red, white and royal blue.
The Dodgers looked great in Washington on Thursday, and no wonder: They got to celebrate their 2025 World Series win at the White House, in front of the nation.
The players bantered with President Trump, exchanged jokes and savored the glory of earning two consecutive world titles.
Good: Thursday’s visit was another triumph for one of the winningest clubs in baseball history.
It was good to see the Dodgers rise above partisan rancor, stay focused, keep it professional and swing by the White House.
They delivered joy, levity and unity — a home run.
Thursday’s event showed respect for the fans, the nation and the highest office in the land.
It upheld a rich tradition dating to 1924 when the Washington Senators visited President Calvin Coolidge after winning the World Series.
In modern times, World-Series-winning clubs have been hosted at the White House near-annually since the 1980s.
Still, some sourpusses pressed the Dodgers not to go.
Critics carped that the club should snub President Trump, reject his invitation and stand up against federal immigration enforcement by ICE.
That’s a whiff.
America loves baseball because it doesn’t dwell on politics.
We don’t need political litmus tests applied to celebrations of sporting achievement.
We don’t need lectures from entertainers, activists or anyone else.

The ballpark is a place to watch the game, eat a hot dog and high-five a stranger when Shohei Ohtani crushes a baseball –– again.
Besides, if the Dodgers had skipped the fete, would that have sated the radicals?
The latter would have demanded more, as they always do: a team rebuke of Orange Man Bad, perhaps, or Dave Roberts posing with a “Block ICE” sign.
We kid, but only a little, as the appetite of some for performative politics truly is endless.
But no matter now.
By choosing grace over politics, the Dodgers scored a win for the club, for the nation and for common sense.
And they showed why they are winners.
