Corporate media lackeys spent a good chunk of the election cycle attacking Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a “fringe” conspiracy theorist who was pushing “dangerous” ideas. Or, in other words, ideas that do not conform to their worldview.

They kept their feet on the pedal, anticipating President-elect Donald Trump would tap RFK. Jr. for a health-related position in his administration. Trump did just that Nov. 14, nominating Kennedy to helm the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). (Stream ‘SICK,’ the Daily Caller’s documentary on the medical establishment, here)

In the wake of the decision, outlets like The Atlantic and The New Yorker sounded the alarm over RFK’s “bad” ideas, such as banning seed oils and carcinogenic food dyes.

Even the New York Post, a right-leaning outlet, hopped on the bandwagon.

“We fear the worm that he claims ate some of his brain some years ago is contagious and there’s been an outbreak at Mar-a-Lago,” the Post editorial board wrote.

In its opening paragraph for a story about RFK that seems like it was written, in part, by lobbyists, Politico dropped the dirty f-word: “fringe.”

“Donald Trump’s embrace of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his fringe health theories is triggering a flurry of outreach in Washington and beyond, with powerful ag interests rushing to defend their industries from Kennedy’s threats,” the outlet reported.

Despite the deluge of fear-mongering from corporate media outlets, a new poll shows that a majority of Americans approve of Trump’s cabinet picks. A lot of Americans also approve of RFK Jr.’s nomination.

Nearly 60% of Americans approve of Trump’s nominees, according to a CBS News/YouGov survey. Forty-seven percent say RFK is a good choice for HHS secretary. Only 34% of adults surveyed said RFK is a bad choice, while 19% said they haven’t heard enough about him.

Nearly 50%. That doesn’t sound like fringe to me.

The poll also suggests Americans no longer trust the media to discern which ideas are kooky and fringe and which ideas are actually smart, such as banning seed oils and artificial dyes that cause cancer. Corporate media fear-mongering is once again ringing hollow for people with common sense.
