American Sign Language is more than just hand gestures, it incorporates facial expressions to form the signs as well.

It probably doesn’t sound nice to say, but when watching a live press conference, I generally find those Signers an unwanted distraction from the speaker. I understand that they perform a valuable service to the deaf.

I find them to be an annoying distraction.
Why not just run the speech as subtitles?
